"Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows;
it empties today of its strength." — Corrie ten Boom

Are You Struggling With Anxiety?

If your mind never seems to get a moment's rest, you're not broken — and you don't have to white-knuckle your way through it alone. I'm Edward Davey (RSW, MSW), and I help people work through anxiety with practical tools, honest conversation, and zero judgment.

When Your Mind Won't Switch Off

Anxiety has a way of making everything feel urgent. The racing thoughts at 2 a.m. The conversations you rehearse — and then replay — long after they're over. The endless "what if" spirals about things you can't control. The tension you carry in your shoulders, your jaw, your chest, like your body is bracing for something that never quite arrives.

If that sounds familiar, I want you to know two things. First: you're not weak, and you're definitely not alone — anxiety is one of the most common reasons people reach out to me. Second: it doesn't have to run the show. Anxiety is something we can understand together, and more importantly, something we can work on in practical, concrete ways.

I'm based in Orangeville and serve clients across Dufferin County — and with virtual sessions, anywhere in Ontario. Wherever you're reading this from, help is closer than you think.

How I Work With Anxiety

My approach is collaborative and practical. Therapy with me isn't about lying on a couch talking into the void — it's a working conversation. We'll dig into what's really driving your anxiety, in plain language, and you'll leave each session with real, usable tools to practice between appointments. My clients sometimes call it "homework." I call it the part where the real change happens.

I'm also strength-based, which is a fancy way of saying this: I believe you're more capable than your anxiety wants you to believe. Our job together is to help you see that too — to recognize exactly what's been holding you back, and to build a pathway through it, one practical step at a time.

And we'll adjust as we go. If something isn't working, we change it. This is your therapy, not a fixed program.

What Sessions Look Like

First, We Map It

Early sessions are about understanding what's actually happening — your triggers, your patterns, the thoughts that loop the loudest. No jargon, no judgment. Just an honest look at what you're dealing with.

Tools You Can Actually Use

Then we build your toolkit: practical strategies for the moments anxiety spikes, tailored to your real life. You'll practice them between sessions, so they become yours — not just something we talked about.

Steadier Days

Over time, we notice what's working, adjust what isn't, and build your confidence back up. The goal isn't a life with zero anxiety — it's a life where anxiety doesn't get the final say.

All sessions are currently offered virtually, available anywhere in Ontario.

Signs Therapy Might Help

  • Racing thoughts that won't quiet down
  • "What if" spirals about things you can't control
  • Trouble falling asleep because your mind is still going
  • Avoiding things you'd actually like to do
  • Tension, restlessness, or that on-edge feeling
  • Replaying conversations long after they're over

Common Questions

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. If anxiety is getting in the way of your life — your sleep, your work, your relationships, your peace of mind — that's reason enough. You don't need a label to deserve support.

How long does therapy for anxiety take?

Everyone's different. Some people notice shifts within a few sessions; others take longer, and that's completely fine. We check in regularly on your progress and go at your pace — no fixed program, no pressure.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

All sessions are currently virtual, available anywhere in Ontario. Many of my clients find it easier to open up from their own space — and there's no commute, no waiting room, no parking to worry about.

I've tried therapy before and it didn't stick. Why would this be different?

That happens more often than people admit, and it says nothing about you. My approach is collaborative and practical — we adjust together as we go. The free 15-minute consultation lets us both see if we're a good fit before you commit to anything.
