One-on-One Therapy, Built Around You

Whatever you're carrying — stress, a rough patch, a big decision, or just a feeling you can't shake — you don't have to sort it out alone. Individual therapy is one-on-one time built entirely around you: your goals, your pace, your life. I'm Edward Davey (RSW, MSW), and I'll help you work through it with practical tools and honest conversation.

What Brings People to Individual Therapy

Everyone arrives with something different. For some people it's anxiety that won't switch off, or a low mood that's settled in. For others it's work stress, a relationship that's struggling, grief, a big life change, or a decision they keep circling. And some people just know something feels off, even if they can't name it yet.

You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis, or the right words to start. If it's weighing on you, it's worth talking about — that's the only requirement there is.

I'm based in Orangeville and serve clients across Dufferin County — and with virtual sessions, anywhere in Ontario. Wherever you're reading this from, help is closer than you think.

How I Work With You

My approach is collaborative and practical. Therapy with me isn't about lying on a couch talking into the void — it's a working conversation. We'll dig into what's really going on, in plain language, and figure out what's been holding you back.

You'll leave each session with real, usable tools to practice between appointments. My clients sometimes call it "homework." I call it the part where the real change happens.

I'm also strength-based, which is a fancy way of saying this: I believe you're more capable than you feel right now, and my job is to help you see that too. And we'll adjust as we go — if something isn't working, we change it. This is your therapy, not a fixed program.

What Sessions Look Like

First, We Map It

Early sessions are about understanding what's actually happening — what you're dealing with, what matters most, and where you want to get to. No jargon, no judgment. Just an honest look, together.

Tools You Can Actually Use

Then we build your toolkit: practical strategies tailored to your real life. You'll practice them between sessions, so they become yours — not just something we talked about.

Steadier Days

Over time, we notice what's working, adjust what isn't, and build your confidence back up. The goal isn't a life with no hard days — it's a life where you trust yourself to handle them.

All sessions are currently offered virtually, available anywhere in Ontario.

Signs Therapy Might Help

  • Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or on edge more days than not
  • A problem you keep solving in your head but never out loud
  • Stress from work, family, or relationships spilling into everything
  • A big decision or life change you can't see your way through
  • Low motivation, low mood, or losing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Wanting support from someone outside your everyday life

Common Questions

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. If something is getting in the way of your life — your sleep, your work, your relationships, your peace of mind — that's reason enough. You don't need a label to deserve support.

How long does individual therapy take?

Everyone's different. Some people notice shifts within a few sessions; others take longer, and that's completely fine. We check in regularly on your progress and go at your pace — no fixed program, no pressure.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

All sessions are currently virtual, available anywhere in Ontario. Many of my clients find it easier to open up from their own space — and there's no commute, no waiting room, no parking to worry about.

I've tried therapy before and it didn't stick. Why would this be different?

That happens more often than people admit, and it says nothing about you. My approach is collaborative and practical — we adjust together as we go. The free 15-minute consultation lets us both see if we're a good fit before you commit to anything.
